Die Hauptwache entstand 1728 nach dem Entwurf von Stadtbaumeister Johann Samhaimer als rechteckiges Gebäude mit nur einem Vollgeschoss und einem mächtigen Walmdach. Die Südseite der Wache ist als Fassadenseite mit Quaderlinsen, Pfeilerkarkaden und einem dem Dach vorgeblendeten Giebel gestaltet.
