German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Automotive / Cars & Trucks
German term or phrase:MoS2-Leichtlauf
Katalogeintrag ohne weiteren Zusatz:
"Oil-Additiv: Reduziert Motor-Verschleiß durch MoS2-Leichtlauf."
Leichtlauf = low viscosity, aber "MoS2-Leichtlauf"?
Okay, thanks for your feedback ... I suppose I could go for "MoS2 Low Viscosity Oil"... Somehow I kept thinking that "Leichtlauf" referred to a process. Perhaps it's the heat, and I should take a break :=)
Perhaps my question should be more precise. I realize what MoS2 stands for. The question is, how is "MoS2-Leichtlauf" translated? To me, "MoS2 low viscosity" does not make any sense, and generates next to no hits in google.
Please don't be misled by the frequency of my questions posted; I am working on a huge corpus and am now trying to settle the terms for which I haven't been able to find the ideal translation in spite of already investing considerable effort. Occasionally I may have used the wrong keywords so perhaps this is the reason why someone else would be able to find the same term in a flash.
Writeaway is correct pointing out that you should at least TRY to find the terms on your own. I hardly speak German, yet have found the answers to the two most recent questions in just over one minute!!
are you trying to find these terms on Google? you're supposed to look things up before you post, not post instead of looking. Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2). http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=002356;p=0

I didn't at first realize this was a brand name, so thanks! I ended up using "MoS2 low viscosity oil".
