German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Automotive / Cars & Trucks / heat exchanger
German term or phrase: Außenwand und Rückwand eben/senkrecht zur Längsachse gelegenen Querschnitts gerade gestaltet sind
I've been staring at this for a while and am having trouble making sense of it. Any help as to what they are trying to say would be much appreciated:

"Es kann auch vorgesehen sein, dass eine Außenwand und eine Rückwand des ersten Wärmetauschers jeweils eben bzw. senkrecht zur Längsachse des Sammelrohrs gelegenen Querschnitts im wesentlichen gerade gestaltet sind."

I'm fine up to Sammelrohr and can't make sense of it after that. Thanks!

Explanation:
It is also possible for an outer wall and a rear wall of the first heat exchanger to be planned/intended to be formed as essentially linear elements either parallel to or perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cross-section abutting the collector tube.

Whether that's the intended meaning (and what it all means) is an open question.
