German term or phrase: Querfugen
In a document comparing the Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series:

Sowohl Audi als auch BMW sprechen auf Querfugen recht steif an.

I'm thinking 'cross-joint', but it doesn't get anywhere near as many hits as the German. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks as always
