Running chassis Explanation: I'm pretty sure this is what is meant; somewhat like the carmakers, bus and lorry manufacturers build some of their vehicles in pieces, and coachbuilders (van Hool is a name which springs to mind for coaches) put bodies on. The chassis normally has the engine already fitted, as far as I recall. |
