German term or phrase: Kaltakquisition
Hat mit der Akquise von Kunden zu tun. Steht als einzelner Begriff da.
English translation:prospecting or sales prospecting
"Prospecting," or "sales prospecting," appears to include cold calling, among other methods. However, since the German uses kalt in the term, I strongly suspect cold calling is what is meant in this case, and I'd probably go with that. Maybe it's just me, but I think if mailings or other methods were meant, another term would have been used. Also, nobody cold calls door to door anymore, at least not in most areas of the US (although I am old enough to remember it being done for sales to private homes and to businesses, when it was also referred to as cold calling.)
The Account Executive´s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Performs daily prospecting through cold calling, warm calling, mailings, on-site visits
Prospecting By Phone

has time to routinely cold call new accounts... find the key decision makers ...

That's the term used in US telemarketing - it means there is no lead on the customer, i.e. the telemarketer does not know whether or not the customer might be interested in the product.
