German term or phrase: aktueller Realisierungsstand
This is part of the subject of a record of conversation dealing with a Geschaeftsidee (business idea?). The whole thing goes like this. Thema: Präsentation der Geschäftsidee and Besprechung des aktuellen Realisierungsstands. Status of Realization doesn't sound like a typical business expression.

Explanation:
this sounds more usable and the combination of project and status gets over the 'realization'idea sufficiently.

The other suggestions may well be more accurate translations, but in this case I decided to go with the "conventional" solution. The German expression is part of a short title of the subject of a record of conversation. It seems to me that what is called for is something familiar rather than something that is an exact word for word translation. Maybe it's a US vs. UK English problem, but level of realisation doesn't ring a bell in my American ears.

Explanation:
comments:
1. 'Stand' is not exactly the same as status; it suggests that there is a history preceding the current situation and that the activity in question is (potentially) ongoing; it thus can be a 'snapshot'. 'Status' is sometimes used in the sense of 'stage' or 'state', but it is also often used in the sense of 'condition' (e.g. draft, preliminary,...) and it does not imply history or continuation.

2. 'Realisation' can be used in certain contexts instead of 'implementation' (although less so in NA) and may be better in your context, since 'implementation' suggests working from a predefined plan or design, while 'realisation' fits better with transforming an idea into something more or less concrete.

current state of realisation

Explanation:
I think preferable to "implementation" which is execution (Ausführung). "Realisierung" can be a planning stage, which is a level or two below implementation.
Your choice.

Current project status

Explanation:
I totally agree with this translation. I don't agree with the contribution of "lone", however. Splitting up an expression (even splitting a word apart like this) and trying to translate the individual "building blocks" is never going to result in a proper translation. That's what machine translation can achieve as well, but this is supposed to be a "human translator" service.

I have seen this practice now several times by several people, and I think that this is a waste of space and effort.

Explanation:
Current project status is correct; I work as a tech writer and we happen
to use this (or a closely similar)
phrase quite often.
