freight units / packets / cases

Explanation:
Actually the owrd is often spelled as "Kolli" and is a somewhat older term that comes from the French "colis" which is translated as = package, parcel, case, piece of luggage.
Several Kolis can be part of one pallet.

It is a term typically used among transport companies and agents.

package

Explanation:
The word is used in, among other cargo documents, the International Consignment Note CMR.
The box: Number of packages (Anzahhl der Packstuecke, Fr.Nombre de colis)
-it's actually a French word.
Colli can mean anything loaded onto a trailer etc.: a pallet, a barrel, a carton.
The next box on the CMR reads: Method of packing (Art der Verpackung), where the type of "colli" is specified.

Explanation:
I am not sure what kind of package this is, but I have found a prood on Google that it is used in the same form in English as well:

"He stressed that it is essential to start preparing a transport early and that the following information is needed for a start:

- Place of loading
- Place of discharge
- Terms of shipment (EXW=ex works or DDU=delivered duty unpaid)
- Time of delivery and when needed at the destination
- Dimensions: length x width x height
- Weight: kilos/tons
- number of collis/units
- packaging, packed or unpacked
- support, lashing, craddle etc. if necessary
- special treatment or x-power restrictions"

packing units / packages

Explanation:
It's actually the plural of "Kollo", which means "packing unit". "Collo" is a synonym for "Kollo". That's according to SAP, anyway.

Hamblock/Wessels simply offer "packages".

Good luck,

Steve Martin
