English translation:dunning notice
Explanation:
This is a demand for payment on an invoice that has not yet been paid.

If you need to have the entire document translated, I'd suggest you post it as a job or as an "instant job", I'm sure you'll be able to find a qualified translator who'll be happy to take on the job.

I hope no fellow translator gets mad at me for writing this.

Explanation:
I hope no fellow translator gets mad at me for writing this.

Since I don't have an email address to send this to you directly, I must write it here.

I'm only doing it because I suspect you may have inadvertently ordered something without understanding the situation or without knowing how you were intended to pay for the item. The reminder itself is now also overdue so legal action may be imminent.

Although Ulrike Lieder is absolutely right with her answer, it is quite possible you may not have been able to find a translator willing to take on such a small job. There were only about 350 keystrokes to translate, for which my price would have been $5.20 but I would not have taken on the job because, from the looks of your text, :-) , collecting the money from you might have been much more costly than the $5.20 would have been worth. Besides that, many translators (like myself) have minimum charges of $50.00 or more, which you certainly would not have wanted to pay.

For such translation problems, automatic translation sites like AltaVista Babelfish - http://world.altavista.com/tr - are quite often, but not always, sufficient to understand what is meant:

Payment reminder
Dear Madam or Sir,
Upon examination of our records, we note that the following invoice has not yet been paid.

Invoice amount
Reminder fee
Total

We kindly ask you to transfer the above total amount to our Commerzbank ("Commerzbank" is the name of the creditor's German bank) account shown below by 31 July 2001.

Sincerely,

Then these following words:

item – voucher – date – due date – invoice – credit note – payment – amount

_____________________________________

The best part of the Babelfish translation is the "With friendly pits" part. My pits are also friendly. :-) "Gruben" are pits in the sense of gravel or coal pits. "Grüßen" are greetings.

I hope all this will help you avoid further legal hassle with the creditor.

Sincerely,

Dan McCrosky

Message to Dan,

Explanation:
Dan,
Thank you for your translation. I hope you do not think it was I who was not paying a debt. It is not that. I work with a tour operator sending groups to Europe and Asia and this particular invoice is from a hotel in which they have overcharged the company by two rooms. I have been trying since our first invoice to get the hotel to send me something in English. Also I have been trying to fax the hotel a request to check their records again or advise if the group we sent added two rooms whilst in Germany. I haven't any luck yet. I have tried some German-English dictionary sites in which some of the words have 50 or more meanings! I found the ProZ site and I love it! I will bring it up in our next meeting to see if this will be a viable means to translate the few documents we receive in other languages. Again, thank you for your translation of this invoice, and please don't think I am a deadbeat when it comes to paying for things. :)
