Bus/Financial
German term or phrase: branchenüblich
Der Erfüllungsgrad von Anfragen beträgt 40% und ist, wie branchenüblich unbefriedigend.
This problem is faced by a company dealing in used cars/parts and the apparent solution is to buy in cars with parts that are more in demand.
Julie
English translation:The word "branch" cannot be used for this purpose in English.
Explanation:
The word "branch" cannot be used for this purpose in English. You could use "field" or "trade" as mentioned above, or "sector" or "line/type of business".

The sentence would then be:

"Der Erfüllungsgrad von Anfragen beträgt 40% und ist, wie branchenüblich unbefriedigend." = "The percentage of enquiry/inquiry fulfillment is (only) 40%, which is unsatisfactory but normal for this line of business."

as usual in this branch/field

Explanation:
In this case branchenüblich refers to the automotive parts market niche specifically.
Thus, I would say in this branch or in this field, no only in the trade.

Good luck! :)

Explanation:
I agree with the foregoing suggestion. I would not really use trade (which usually refers to Handel). Branche on the other hand denotes a "sector" (of industry). You can, however, also say branch in this regard, as suggested above.

endemic in this business

Explanation:
and is, as endemic in this business, unsatisfactory.

Branchen"ublich often means industry standard, but that is not what you would call an ongoing deficiency. I would use endemic since this is not a desired thing.
