German to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial
German term or phrase:Vorstandsverein
type of association (I wonder if it is typical of Austria or whether it is used in Germany as well?)often used to cover tax evasion (at least in my context...)
Explanation: I have heard this expression in English, it is not used for covering tax evasions (or maybe it is and my belief in the goodness of all mankind let me down once more), but refers to an exclusive circle of people (directors), who in the club talk a lot and nothing else much happens. It's more of a flippant term for a club, that doesn't seem to be doing anything useful.
