Es wird heute erwartet, dass Kostenerhoehungen intern abgefedert werden koennen, z.B. indem Sie Kosten an anderen Stellen einsparen. Wir verfahren so und wir erwarten das Gleiche von unseren Lieferanten. Darueber hinaus sind wir der Ueberzeugung, dass durch die pauschale Anhebung der Gesamtkosten nicht nur Ihre Kostenerhoehung gemindert, sondern gleichzeitig Ihre Gewinne erhoeht werden. Dies kommt jedoch nicht einer Kostenumlage gleich, sondern in Teilen einer Gewinnerhoehung.

Do the last 2 sentences starting from "die pauschale Anhebung...." make logical sense to anyone? If so, can you just give me the gist of of what they're on about. This is part of a letter from one company to another protesting about cost increases. Thank you.

agree  Dierk Widmann: With the 1st sentence. However, the suppliers are supposed to do the same, not increase their costs, if my reading is correct.
