German term or phrase:schlanke Töchter
This phrase appears in a stocktaking training document.
Whst is the best way to phrase this in English?
Is a "schlanke Töchter" an intermediary or does it mean "subsidiaries with lean management"?
In the absence of good reason to think otherwise, a Tochter(unternehmung) is a subsidiary. There are a few ghits for 'lean subsidiary/subsidiaries', but not enough to convince me that the term is generally used. Also, Aniello's advice should be reliable.
