German to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general)
German term or phrase:auf die Häuser entfallen
From an article about the takeover of a chain of department stores by a company owning buildings in lots of city centres.
Uber den Preis, gut zwei Milliarden Euro, war man sich schon einig; zwei Drittel davon wären auf die Häuser entfallen.
I can't work out what "auf die Häuser entfallen" means - can anyone clarify if this is an idiomatic phrase and/or shed light on its meaning?
is a German term used for individual (parts of) companies. In this case, it refers to 2/3 of the price had to be paid for the individual stores, so to say, while 1/3 of the price was for the organisation.
