LS Fachwörterbuch Technik und angewandte Wissenschaften offers "walking line" for "Lauflinie", which at least one German site (http://www.lbs-wals.salzburg.at/vwrl/wrl-z1/rech/trepp/trepp... indicates as being equivalent to "Gehlinie".
