German term or phrase: nachvollziehbar
Bei ordnungsgemäßer Durchführung dieser Verfahrensanweisung wird sichergestellt, daß die elektronische Datenverteilung mit internen wie auch externen Empfängern in sicherer, strukturierter und "nachvollziehbarer" Form geschieht.

traceable
Explanation:
May I respectfully disagree with the above answer?

A 'nachvollziehbar' process (e.g., Datenverteilung) is something that can be traced. This is to allow the user to detect the error in the network, identify and rectify it. Without being able to see the 'trace', or the footprints in the process, one wouldn't be able to avoid malfunction.

See links for traceable data distribution.

My Siemens FW Industrielle Elektrotechnik Energie- und Automatisierungstechnik gives 'calibration traceability' for 'Nachvollziehbarkeit der Eichung'.

comprehensible, understandable,

Explanation:
there is no english word that replaces the meaning 1:1, but in practical situations _comprehensible, understandable (e.g., even by someone else not originally involved in the project) often worl. Also in some contexts, demonstrable (Langenscheidt, Collins). The concept of clarity may enter into the meaning, in other situations, access to the original information, or an audit trail.

The German meaning is well described in Duden:
nachvollziehen: sich in jmds. Gedanken, Vorstellungen, Handlungsweise o.ä. hineinversetzten und sie sich [geistig]zu eigen zu machen, sie so zu verstehen als hätte man sie selbst so gedacht, gehandelt
(Duden, Deutsches Universalwörterbuch ISBN3 411 05503 0)
nachvollziehbar of course denotes the ability to do this.

substantiated

Explanation:
..in a format which is structured, secure and which can be substantiated..

try Google:
nachvollziehbar +data

"substantiated" (relates to traceable) is the only term which fits. An ID (referance)is attached to every data entry, change or deletion, pointing to its originator.
