In this context, can "Leitung" mean "command"??

RTS - a hardware signal


Explanation:
Request to send is one of the control signals used in the RS232 communication. It's a signal if you want to be concise (and a line if you want to be literal but it could be argued that it's a line only after the user connects a cable to the connector). Whatever.
