German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering / Roofing
German term or phrase:Schalungsbahn
Further to my previous question (if you noticed it) about Vordeckbahn, can anyone help with this please, either with explaining exactly what it is or a translation - or both - even better!! I have got to draw a distinction between Vordeckbahn and Schalungsbahn. Thank you.
The customer turned out to be a bit of a nightmare and started questioning my English (which I have no problem with usually because I am not William Shakespeare but when they are Austrian and are underlining perfectly common and correct English terms then I think it is a bit cheeky!!). So I am not entirely sure what they will want in the end for Schalungsbahn and Vordeckbahn. I used roofing membrane for Vordeckbahn and sarking membrane for Schalungsbahn - I don't know if I will have to change it or not yet though because the nightmare customer will probably complain about it. Thank you for your help and I mean it about posting it as a question - you helped linguistically and you took the time to reply, so I reckon you should get something. Cannot send you a box of chocolates to Canada because they would melt on the way so I can at least give you some Kudoz points
the reason I hadn't entered the term was that I wasn't completely surewhether "roofing felt" is the equivalent of "Schalungsbahn" or "Vordeckbahn". We have a different system here, and the website didn't convince me completely as to which term corresponds to the German original. Thanks for wanting to award the points. I wonder which term you actually used?
