German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering / Cable construction
German term or phrase:Stapelverfahren
Das Stapelverfahren ist eine für die Kabeltechnik übliche Anordnung (entweder versetzte Lagen übereinander, bei denen die Materialstreifen auf Lücke/Stossfuge liegen oder aber) gelegt sind.
I am assuming the position of the last bracket is incorrect.
Patrick, I think these terms are somewhat described in the section where the different ways of 'manufacturing' these shields are listed. One option with gaps and multi-layered (liegen) - and the other option with touching ends forming a 'vertical rib' (gelegt).
But this is just another assumption ;-)
Thanks for the points.
I agree, the sentence does not make sense. I think in essence it is saying that layers are arranged in an offset manner, one above the other, in which the material strips lie in a staggered pattern. Anyway, I intend to refer back to the client for clarification.
I'm afraid the sentence, as you've posted it, viz. "Das Stapelverfahren ist...gelegt sind", doesn't make any sense. Yes, I can see that you've already warned us about the incorrect position of the last bracket, and I even tried to figure out the meaning by visualising the last bracket in other positions, but no luck.

Explanation: A multi-layered and overlapping wrapping of the cable with these strips (having read the respective patent).
Stapel seems to be a bit misleading here.

Thanks, Bernd, I used "multilayered" for this as you suggested. However, I had to improvise the best I could with the statement in brackets.
Explanation: It is very difficulit to make sense of this German sentence. What I read out of it, there are two main words in German "Kabel und Anordnung"
so I would say in my opinion that "cable management" is a better phrase.
I hope this helpful.
