diathermic heater (radiation convection heater) Explanation: I actually know the inventor, Mr. Grabbe, who used to live in my neighborhood in Germany. This heater uses a boiler system in the basement to heat water which circulates to a piping system to each room with heat exchangers under the windows. It combines the old radiator heater systems, creating mainly radiation heat, with the modern fin-type convection systems and reduces the effects of the disadvantages of both systems (discoloring of wall paper with radiation systems and dust distribution with fin systems). It was or is called "Diatherm", but I think his patent has long expired. To me it looks that someone just created a new word here and don't think that you will find a straight forward translation anywhere. So be creative! Personal knowledge |
