Education / Pedagogy / certificate/diploma
German term or phrase: außerfachlich
From a diploma examination certificate. There are Fachprüfungen, Leistungsnachweise and "Außerfachliche Lehrveranstaltungen (mit Erfolg teilgenommen)". They are Zivilrecht and Recht des Ingenieurs, in case that matters.

It's probably obvious, but I can't think of it at the moment...

All very good answers, but the robot told me I had to make a decision! I ended up using extradisciplinary. I love that word :-)

Ah Trudy, you were keeping your cards close to your chest. I was drawn in by the suggestion that it might be something 'obvious'...
As it happens, UK usage does not specify that 'extracurricular activities' have to be sporting or non-academic, merely that they should be outside the prescribed curriculum.

Notes to answerer
Asker: I thought of that but, as your reference indicates, it makes me think of sports and such, which is not the case here.
