German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng
German term or phrase: Halbbildverfahren/Vollbildverfahren
From instructions for a digital media player:

COMPOSITE TV-konformes Farbvideosignal (Halbbildverfahren, interlaced)
P-SCAN YBPR Farbvideosignal Vollbildverfahren

My dictionary appears to indicate that Halbbildverfahren IS interlaced, so there would be no separate translation of Halbbildverfahren in the above. But then what is Vollbildverfahren? - I'm guessing it might be non-interlaced, but definitely need the advice of experts!

agree  Ken Cox: 'progressive scan' seems to be the new 'hot' term for this -- see e.g. http://www.projectorcentral.com/component.htm
