German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Energy / Power Generation / Turbine blade cooling
German term or phrase:Forum
The subject matter is the use of resonators in a cooling system, wherein the necessary acoustic resonances can be created "durch Modifizieren einer bestehenden Geometrie eines Kühkanals oder eines Forums".
Unless there is meaning of "Forum" which I never come across before, I am wondering if this could be a typing error, for example "Form", which I could translate as shape or profile.

you may have to inquiry with the author on this one. Forum does not make sense, you are right.
There is one other typo which had me thinking, but otherwise the text seems to be fairly accurate. However, I already have "forum" typed in and in the absence of any further advice from other members I will leave this is as it is and attach a translator's note.
Not my field, but I would perhaps question this with the client. Are there typos elsewhere in the document? I am not sure Form makes much more sense, though. Either way, you would be in relatively safe territory, after consultation with the client, to translate this simply as forum, in English.
