neutral  Ken Cox: how would this fit with a Kabelverschraubung?
12 mins
-> As a typo exclusively, I guess. Thanx for the interesting development in dialogue with Richard connected with the female assistant :) I'm not so tough to imagine 'rough / un finished nippel', but to complete the topic I suggest the term 'wild nipple' :)

rough nippel

Explanation:
It is related to engineering. So the translation would be rough / un finished nippel.

pipe nipple

Explanation:
Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass es sich hier um einen typo handelt.
Ich würde meinen es geht hier um cable fittings und pipe nipples

Notes to answerer
Asker: Das dachte ich zunächst auch, aber der Begriff taucht an mehreren Stellen im Text auf, so dass ich einen Typo eigentlich ausschließe.

agree  Richard Benham: The "word" Rohnippel gets 8 googlies, including this page, one of which does not contain the word, another of which contains it in the midst of a list of different Rohrnippeln. It's got to be a typo!

agree  hazmatgerman (X): And good for the dissection of "net hits" which must always be taken with the proverbial NaCl.

Rohrnippel (nipple)

Explanation:
Most likely a typo.

Rohrnipple is literally 'pipe nipple', but with a cable gland I would just use 'nipple'.

refs:

* Pg. and Imperial Adaptors
* Replace the standard nipple in the Pratley Adjustable Cable Gland
* The gland may then be screwed into Pg. (DIN standard) or Imperial threaded entries respectively

agree  Richard Benham: I am reminded of the asking the female assistant in a trade supplier's store "Do you have half-inch nipples?"//An alternative to HazMat's riposte might be "It depends on the size of your cock", while on the subject of plumbing fittings.
1 hr
-> To which the proper reply is 'Length or diameter?'\\While we're having fun, 'It depends on your plumbing' would also work without skating so close to the edge.

agree  hazmatgerman (X): Another riposte was "For the right customer, possibly". However, Runge was there first.

(pipe) nipple (NFG)

Explanation:
Ken and Bernd have already supplied the right answer; so this is just in support.

The very few Google hits for "Rohnippel" offer very little reason to believe that it's anything other than a typo for "Rohrnippel".

Here: http://www.inocal.com/pc/Datenblaetter/IB-Edelstahl/ibe01.pd... it immediately followed by "Rohrdoppelnippel".

Here: http://www.haustechnik-express.de/advanced_search_result.php... despite the site's appearing in the Google search, the "word" is not found, nor does entering it into the site's search facility produce any hits, while "Rorhrnippel" produces 16.

Here: http://www.geberit.at/geberit/inet/at/wcmsat.nsf/files/usr-a...$file/LB-HT08GEB.pdf we have a list of parts...

70G380CZ Az C-Stahl Rohnippel PM 18 ST
70G380DZ Az C-Stahl Rohrnippel PM 22 ST
70G380EZ Az C-Stahl Rohrnippel PM 28 ST

70G380JZ Az C-Stahl Rohrnippel PM 89 ST
70G380KZ Az C-Stahl Rohrnippel PM 108 ST

They look very much like a series of items of the same kind, except one of them is a "Rohnippel", and the others are all "Rohrnippel".

And here: http://shop.wewo.info/shop/navi/noscript we have a "Rohnippel" listed under the heading "Rohnippel".

There is even a picture at http://www.innovativelabs.com/php/catalogo.php?descarga=33 (item 27 on the diagram), although it is too small to be much help.

OOPS! That should have been "Rohnippel 23A" listed under the heading "Rohrnippel".

All in all, I don't see any evidence for "Rohnippel" as anything other than a typo. One of the other hits was to a Slovak site which for some reason had the names of the items in German.

neutral  Ken Cox: as the term doesn't appear on the visible portion of the site for your second example, it is probably in list of keywords provided to attract search engines, which often include common misspellings of relevant terms (another argument for your case)
4 hrs
-> Yes, that's quite likely. Either that, or (perhaps less likely) they had a typo which has since been removed.
