German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general) / Heating systems
German term or phrase:Wechselbrandanlage
As far as I can tell from the context it refers to a heating sytem that is able to switch between using heat from two differently fuelled boilers, e.g. an oil boiler and a woodchip boiler. What would it be called in UK English?
John and Ken, the document I am translating deals with all sorts of systems including the multi-boiler and dual-fuel systems you refer to. This however, is clearly something different. It involves the use of a "standard" boiler (i.e. oil or gas) and an "alternativer Waermeerzeuger" which is basically one that runs on some sort of sustainable fuel such as logs, pellets, woodchips, etc.
There isn't anything of much help I can provide otherwise I would have done so. The sentence in question simply reads: "Automatische Betriebsfortfuehrung fuer Wechselbrandanlagen". As I indicated, I am reasonably certain what it is. I just need to know what to call it.
