I know it is confusing, and quite often I am not too happy to use "guide" in this context either. But then this is what it is, a guide to return (usually) a chain/belt. We actually do call a "Antriebsumlenkung" a "drive guide". What about making this a "return drive guide station/unit/device/equipement"? Have you tried googling https://www.boschrexroth.com? You should be able to find both German and English equivalent for everything there.

It is certainly a bit baffling, but "guide" would then conflict with "Führung" etc.

Here is some more context:

"Tauschen Sie die defekte Antriebsumlenkung gegen eine neue, voll funktionsfähige Umlenkung aus"

The company I work for calls a "Umlenkstation" a "returnin station" or "guide station". A "Umlenkrad" they also call "guide wheel" or "guide sprocket wheel". I do not have time (baffled by a legal text at the moment) to do more research on this at the moment such as comparing picture etc.. I am just giving you the terms I know by heart so you have something to start with.

Hallo David, Deine Kurzerklärung ist korrekt. Hier eine Erklärung zu Umlenkwelle: "idler shaft - a shaft carrying one or more gearwheels that idles between a driver shaft and a driven shaft, usually to reverse the direction of rotation or provide different spacing of gearwheels, esp. in a gearbox." Ich kenne für Umlenkwelle auch "return shaft" oder "return pulley", für "Umlenkseite" auch "return side" von der Arbeit bei einem Transportbandhersteller. Grundsätzlich findest Du vielleicht mehr, wenn Du mit "Umlenk-" anstelle von "Umlenkungs-" suchst. Ich würde das Wort "Gehäuse" gar nicht verwendetn, sondern verbal auflösen, wie etwa " ... consists of two enclosed flange bearings ...". Du kannst das bestimmt noch besser formulieren, aber ich hoffe es gibt einen Anstoss für Dich.
