German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general) / Patents
German term or phrase: Aufnahmekörper
From a patent application relating to small lighting devices which can be inserted in or attached to a beer glass/cocktail glass/fruit dish etc to produce "interessante Lichteffekte" (naff or what?!). The glass, which looks like an Eisbecher, is described as "Ein Gefäß für feste und flüssige Nahrungs- und Genußmittel weißt einen Aufnahmekörper, einen Griffteil und einen Ständer auf". So the Aufnahmekörper is the part of the glass etc. where the contents go - any ideas what we might call this in English? It's not just "glass"/"receptacle"/"dish" etc, since it's only one part of the whole object.
TIA!
