German to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Finance (general)
German term or phrase: Investition, Finanzierungsrunden, Beta>1
I can't get my head round this first sentence at all(1)Legt man den Wert der Beteiligungen zugrunde wie er sich aus den nach der Investition von XXX GmbH oder zeitgleich damit gelaufenen Finanzierungsrunden ergibt, uebertrifft der heutige Marktwert der Beteiligungen den Buchwert deutlich
(2) Ueber das Jahr hinweg betrachtet wies XXX stets ein Beta > 1 auf

Explanation:
Here is my suggestion for the translation of the first sentence:

Based on the value of the (share)holdings after the investments made by GmbH or obtained through parallel financing rounds, the present market value of the (share)holdings clearly exceeds the(ir) book value.

I think it is better not to translate "wie er sich ... ergibt" - meaning "as it (the value) appears/results - it makes no difference to the meaning and would just make the translation clumsy.

Second sentence: I don't think you have to translate "Beta > 1" - although it would be nice to know what it stands for, which I don't . Otherwise the sentence is easy enough:

XXX displayed / showed / reported (depending on what XXX stands for!) a steady Beta > 1 throughout the year.

I hope this is helpful.

Thanks very much. In case you're wondering by the way, beta is the ratio of the individual stock's performance vs the stock market as a whole...

Explanation:
I'm not surprised that you're finding this one tricky. Here's my best shot.
(1)If one uses the value of the shares as it was calculated at the same time as or after the investment from XXX Ltd. as a basis, today's market value is clearly higher than the book value.

(2)No idea - is "Beta" mentioned before or after?
