hmmmmm Explanation: In the USA, you have your ATM card which allows you to withdraw from the ATM (i.e., your account) and you have debit cards where merchants can just directly debit your account. You have credit cards, of course. You may have to explain this one with something like: Balance-checking card I would not use "check" because that has other meanings and could be miscontrued (even worse than my suggestion above).
