Plattenfette werden zu Tafeln oder Platten gegossen und nach dem Erstarren entsprechend verpackt. Es handelt sich um feste weisse Reinfette. Urspruenglich nur aus Kokos- und Palmkernfett hergestellt, sind es heute vorwiegend Fettgemische. Plattenfette vertragen hohe Hitzegrade und sind zum Braten und Frittieren geeignet.
