German to English translations [Non-PRO] Geography
German term or phrase:Lauf
Dass die Person X deutlich kritischer bewertet werden muss, als dies Y tut, belegt seine Rolle z.B. bei dem von ihm vermittelten Erwerb von Kunstgegenstaenden aus juedischem Besitz durch die Stadt Lauf.
A person stored artifacts during WWII in Germany with supposed aim of displaying them later in a yet to be established museum in the town mentioned.
From a late 1940s memoir.
I do not know how to translate the word Lauf in this sentence. So far my translation says:
It is clear that the individual X needs to be more critically evaluated than Y does, to assess his role, for instance in the way [Lauf?] he negotiated the acquisition by the city of objets d'art of Jewish provenance.
