Science - Geology
German term or phrase: Murschotten
This is an old (1901) text "Wasserbewegung durch Boden" von Prof. Dr. Ph. Forchheimer in Graz:

English translation:Mur gravel
Explanation:
Isn't the ‘Mur’ part of the compound purely and simply the Mur River that flows through Graz? Schotter is most certainly in this context “gravel” or “pebble gravel”.

One of our geologists will know the right word, but in the meantime here are a few references that might help.
