without expressed reservation of the voluntary nature
Explanation:
or: without expressing the reservation of the voluntary nature (of it)

Explanation: payments are done voluntarily by the company and they are to be deemed to be done in this way even if it is not expressively said that they are.

Dear Mr. Metzger,
the case is clear, the company does not have any legal duty to do this sort of payment, so it wants to make clear, that this is voluntary even if they do not say everytime it is. As for Leistung meaning payment, I may remind you that in German one also says \"eine Zahlung leisten\" = to pay something/a certain amount.
I hope this can help.

Thank you Adalbert. One problem I had was with Leistungen meaning payments rather than services. I had a hard time understanding how a company could choose to consider payment for a person's services to be voluntary.
