Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s) / Mining
German term or phrase: Rohstoffkonzessions-Übertragungsvertrag
One company is transferring its rights to prospect and tap into mineral deposits in a certain geographical area to another company. In the contract itself, they refer to these rights as "Rohstoffkonzession", "Bergbaukonzession" (mining license/concession) and "Erkundungs- und Erschließungskonzession" (prospecting and exploitation license/concession).

I have various possibilities, (i.e. raw materials concession transfer agreement / mining license transfer agreement) but was wondering whether anyone knows the correct / official term.

Thanks!

mining-, quarrying-, drilling concession transfer agreement
Explanation:
Depends what branch you are looking at:

Oil concession, gas concession, exploration concession or drilling concession for oil & gas (also called drilling parcels)

Mining concession for minerals (also mineral prospecting concession - which means you can't necessarily dig it out once you've found it)

Quarrying or opencast concession for stone, minerals (e.g. cola or lignite) or opencast mining

That should of course be COAL and lignite!!

What can be transferred is:

a title to a concession i.e. the right to mine and explore on a concession.

A licence to mine or explore a concession - the original owner still owns it and the other party pays to explore and mine it.

The ownership of a concession - this involves purchasing the land and the mineral rights beneath it

In your particular case, it is most likely to be be a"mineral (or mining) concession" and an "exploration and development licence" for the concession.
