German to English translations [PRO] Law/Patents - Law (general)
German term or phrase:Erkenntnisverfahren
"Ob das Landesgericht die Zuständigkeit in dem Erkenntnisverfahren hat...".
Has to do with a decision by the Liechtenstein high court, regarding a lawsuit. I am not sure what Erkenntnisverfahren means in English.
Based on Kim's entry I'd prolly simply go with trial. I don't know Liechtenstein's legal system at all. But to me this sentence reads like a question if the Landgericht does indeed have jurisdiction to conduct this trial.
Explanation: "...Zustaendigkeit in dem Erkenntnisverfahren" = to have jurisdiction over the findings procedure
Zustaendigkeit haben (jur) = to have jurisdiction over s.th.
Erkenntnis (jur) = sentence, finding
pls note that previous translation suggestion is not quite correct:
'adjudication' = ein Urteil faellen (a judgement) and
'enforcement' = Durchsetzung, Vollzug (execution)
and the German text does not contain neither of them
