Back in the days when one would still print Betreff/Subject in letters and documents before stating the actual subject, the word would be in the template basically as a prompt to write the subject into that line. Could this just be from the template and nobody filled in the subject or remembered to delete the word from the page? I looked through the apostilles for our various entity changes.. and I noticed that the apostille box was always on a blank page with nothing else printed on it besides the box and its info....

The "box" (see https://www.google.com/search?q=apostille&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&... for samples) should only contain the details numbered 1 to 10.
Is "Betr." actually within the box (which would be contrary to the Hague Convention specifications) or somewhere else?

As I stated in my post, I am of course aware that Betr. stands for Betreff, but that translation unfortunately doesn't make sense in this specific context. Apologies if I didn't make that clear enough. In this particular case, 'Subject' would be an over-literal translation that doesn't really make sense in the context.

There is standard form wording for an Apostille under the Hague Convention. If you google Apostille you can find pro-formas in many languages.
