German to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents
German term or phrase: Einlageblatt
I am translating a 'Strafbefehl' for someone accused of violating traffic regulations whilst at work as a chauffeur. One of the regulations involved is:
kein Einlageblatt über den Zeitraum hinaus verwendet werden darf, für den es bestimmt ist.
Another:
der Führer hat auf dem Einlageblatt folgende Angaben einzutragen (name, mileage etc.)
One further piece of info:
Blatt wird nach der letzten Fahrt des Tages herausgenommen.

English translation:tachograph chart
Explanation:
This is the (often round) sheet of paper (chart) (Einlageblatt) that is inserted in a tachograph (1700 AV hits) or "black box" ("Fahrtenschreiber", according to Ernst) to record the time in motion and parked. There are laws that forbid an excessive number of hours at the wheel for truck drivers. When trucks are stopped by the authorities for inspection purposes, one of the major items is the inspection of the "tachograph chart(s)" (52 AV hits).

possibly enclosure or insert

Explanation:
This sounds like a piece of paper that's part of the driver's log. Enclosure (Romain) or insert (Langenscheidt) might work in this context.

I don't know how much use these websites will be, but you might want to check them out.

leaflet, loose leaf

Explanation:
Einlageblatt=(additional) loose leaf
according to Muret-Sanders. In this context it sounds more like a supporting
document to a driver's log book.

insert or inserted sheet (of paper)

Explanation:
Usually, insert is used as a more general term, meaning it could be plastic, paper etc. An inserted sheet (of paper) gives you a long but exact translation.
