Dem Zweck des Patentenrecht zu fordern… liefe er zuwider, wenn Versuchshandlungen ausgeschlossen würden, die der Forschung und Fortentwicklung der Technik dienten.
Please, I just need feeback about how to turn this, there is a temporary draft but I'm none too happy about it.

Explanation:
It would go against the purpose of patent law to exclude testing activities that serve research and the advancements of technology.

The German "fordern" makes no sense here, is it lack of context or do you mean "foerdern?" The latter, however, sounds redundant to me translated into English (It would go against promoting the purpose of patent law...). Doesn't the word "purpose" imply an active intent already? Hope this helps a little. kk
