Law/Patents
German term or phrase: Verfügung zugunsten Dritter
part of the heading of a contract clause

Entire heading reads "Änderung der Vereinbarung, verfügung zugunsten Dritter"

The clasuse itself is just the usual Salvatorischeklausel (sevarability clause) on partial invalidity "sollte eine Bestimmung dieser Vereinbarung [..]unwirksam sein, so soll dies die Wirksamkeit der übrigen bestimmungen nicht berühren usw." etc. and requirement of written form.

Does anyone know what the second part of the heading means, and what its relevance is to the rest of the clause (which in my mind seems to have nothing to do with third parties at all).

thanks

disposition for a third party

Explanation:
alternative:
disposition in favour of a third party

And, regardless of the content of the clause itself, "Dritte" refers to a third party/to third parties.
