German to English translations [PRO] Law/Patents
German term or phrase:in das Wissen von Zeugen stellen
in einem Urteil heißt es: Die Klägerin hat einen Sachvortrag gehalten und in das Wissen von Zeugen gestellt.
Explanation: Could you provide more of a context? Maybe the paragraphs before and after? Without this, it is impossible to arrive at a conclusive answer.
(The first answer above, for example, is completely wrong, because this has nothing do with intellectual property).
Just going by what I have now, I would suggest: "The plaintiff delivered a lecture and made it known to witnesses"
It could be that the plaintiff provided witnesses with information related to that lecture. This is the only proper conclusion to be drawn based on the context provided by you.
Explanation: Ina, this one is interesting. The construction with stellen is so unusual. I came up with this meaning after going on the Northern Light search and finding a site where das Wissen von Zeugen apparently meant expert knowledge. So it sounded like entering the lecture as expert knowledge. I can't be sure without more context whether it was entered on the court record as such, but that'a the way it sounds to me. Spent a long time on it. Would you e-mail me, firstname.lastname@example.org, I'd like to know the context.
