It means that the notice becomes effective at the end of the month. Explanation: It means the notice becomes effective at the end of the month only and must be submitted at least one month previously, though one could quibble whether this meant in the preceding calendar month or 28 days before the end of the month. So if you give notice that you wish to cease using your mobile phone, it should continue to work until the last day of the month when the notice expires. |

Your second idea is right but it isn't redundant. Explanation: Yes, I haven't been getting all the messages either. I found this one by accident in the list. Your second idea was right. These notice periods start one month or 30 days or three months or six weeks or 10 minutes before the time point mentioned. For example, a common employment contract notice clause is six weeks before the end of the quarter. If I have such a contract and want out on June 30 (end of the second quarter)but today is May 17th, it is too late for me to give my notice fot June 30. I can't get out till Sept 30. If I have a quarter to end of a quarter contract, I must give 90 days notice but only to the end of one of the annual quarters. If I have a quarter to end of a quarter contract I can only stop at the end of some quarter no matter how early I give notice |

a one month notice to the end of the month Explanation: "to give an employer a one month notice to the end of the month" means that you need to inform him at least one month prior to leaving, but you have to stay until that particular month is over. For example, You give your notice on March 16, one month is over on April 16, but you have to stay until April 30th. |
