Tech/Engineering - Manufacturing / synchronizer rings
German term or phrase: spanend bearbeitet
I am aware that there are some glossary entries, but they didn't really help.

The context is manufacturing of synchronizer rings using CNC automatic lathes. I am aware that "machining" might work here, but I can't get the sentence together... its been a long day...

Mit modernsten CNC-gesteuerten Drehautomaten werden diese **spanend bearbeitet**.

Similarly, later on one of the production steps is described as:
-Zerspanungsvorgang ausführen

Leo says "cutting action" but http://www.proz.com/kudoz/561358 suggest "machining action"

What do the experts say???

Thanks a million!!!

agree  Manfred Mondt: you need to identify the second as a verb by adding -action, -process, -procedure, -operation, etc. whichever fits best here.
