For "Art" you could use "method or type or form". It is difficult for me to see though what "Abrechnungsart" has to do with "verdeckt, offen". Could it be that the latter are connected with "Schaden"? If so then: "verdeckt - offen" could be "concealed / hidden – visible" concerning whether the damage to the insured goods could readily be seen or first became apparent later after unpacking. - HTH - Dan |

'settlement method' or 'type settlement' is definitely correct 2. verdekt oder offen: a commonly used phrase, which literally means 'hidden or open' and can be translated as such in many contexts.
