German to English translations [PRO]
Marketing - Advertising / Public Relations
German term or phrase: Abbindung
This is the advertising term not the medical or adhesive meaning. It is used to refer to one or two short lines of text at the bottom of a full-page advertisement in a magazine. Usually located on the right side. One dictionary mentioned the word "baseline", not necessarily as a translation of "Abbindung" though. "Baseline" appeared to mean the last line of any text on any printed page though so it may not be what I'm looking for. Typical of this sort of text would be: "For more info contact your local XXX washing machine dealer." or "XXX Washing Machines Company recommends Blah-blah washing powder."

I found the following to support this opinion: http://www.smartbiz.com/sbs/arts/ams2.htm (glossary of advertising terms):

Tag. Dealer identification, usually added to the end of a broadcast
commercial announcement to indicate where the product or service
being advertised can be purchased in the local market.

I didn't use this answer because both your references were dealing with broadcast not print advertising but I liked the adv lexicon website so much you get two points for the reference. Thanks

baseline

Explanation:
Your idea looks right to me. Can't think what else you'd call it. The term sounds very odd to me, speaking as someone who is exposed to adcrap on a regular basis. If it's a separate statement at the foot of the page then baseline can't be wrong.
