German term or phrase: optimierung
For the German "Optimierung" I have found: optimation and optimization. What is the difference between these two? Should one say "optimation measures" or "optimization measures"? Thanks a lot for the help.

optimization measures
Explanation:
I'm not sure, whether there are any differences between the two, but optimization measures is used much more often as evident from a simple search with your favorite search engine. My guess is that this is because of the closer phonetic and word stem relation of the noun optimization and the verb to optimize, so it just sounds 'more right'. The US spelling would be optimization and the UK spelling would be optimisation.

optimization - for a British audience at least

Explanation:
Both exist, but to a British ear optimization (or even optimisation) sounds best. Don't know for US or other.

Optimisation

Explanation:
I agree with Natalie. We do tend to spell these sorts of words with an 's' as oppose to the US 'z'. HTH. Claire
