@ Erika: yup, thanks, I found a couple of similar sites, and on the one hand you're right, it's "obvious". BUT! The XYZ context clearly refers to "sachliche" i.e. factual content -- i.e. not informal, but specific facts about their products and services that the company wants conveyed in a very particular fashion. Hence my insistence that -- though the XYZ Co. is using this bit of CD jargon, they are not using its actual *meaning* in THIS instance, which again, occurs on about 10 pages out of 50. And nowhere do they use the other term "Formal" -- that's also a red flag for me. Or am I SO off base? Please explain, because I'm not finding this same kind "close-but-not-right" usage in these & other (proper) examples. THANKS again for your time and assistance! BJ |
