I would rather understand it as *Anknüpfen*, and I wouldn't even call it a typo, since these are sound-imitating words.
Few years ago I've designed some snap-on connectors, in German they were called *Anknüpfen*. If the exact location of the fasteners is important to define, *snap-over* should be fine as well. In cases where the fastening method is more complex, or wherever I don't want to give too much details, I also call it *quick connectors*, even as a verb *to quick-connect*.
