German to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical: Pharmaceuticals / Safety documents
German term or phrase: Selbstfestlegung
The list to be translated is about safety-related documents and their retention period. One column of the list regards the sources, mainly regulations, ordinances, etc. of theses documents, e.g.:

ElexV §§ 12+14, *Selbstfestlegung*

The term "Selbstfestlegung" appears sometimes behind the respective ordinance. I think it means that the company may interpret or translate the respective provisions according to *internal determinations*.
Does any specific English term exist for this?
