Explanation:
According to my personal glossary. I believe I originally got this from the horse's mouth - a German OP-Schwester.

The "Springer" is the non-sterile nurse who gets stuff and reaches it to the sterile staff, i.e the surgeon and the nurse assisting the surgeon.

The sterile nurse is called the "OP-Schwester"
