German term or phrase: Medical Titles
I need to translate several resumes of physicians and need to know the English equivalents of titles such as 'leitender Oberarzt', 'Chefarzt', 'wissenschaftlicher Assistent', 'Facharzt', etc.
Thanks for your help,
Eva Harrison

English translation:medical titles
Explanation:
1. Oberarzt (Vertreter d. Chefarztes) - assistant medical director.
2. Chefarzt - medical director.
3. Wissenschaftlicher Assistent - assistant lecturer.
4. Facharzt - medical specialist.

This is straight out of one book since the books contradict each other. There is quite a didcrepancy between BR. and AM. English

Re. leitender Oberarzt I suggest
senior assistant ...
executive assistant sounds strange
